No one really setup there computer for static as I.P addressbecause it can change. Some people running networks though setup there computer up this way.

1) Click on {Start} {Settings} {Control Panel}

2) Double Click "NETWORK" Icon

3) Highlight (single click) the TCP/IP protocol in the NETWORK COMPONENTS box.

4) Click On The {PROPERTIES} button

5) Verify that the settings in the { I.P ADDRESS} and {SUBNET MASK} fields match what is shown in Remedy.

6) Click on {DNS CONFIGURATION} tab

7) Verify the "HOST" field contains the subscribers {DNS NAME} (computer name)

8) Verify that the {DOMAIN} field contains subscribers fully qualified domain as listed in remedy. (ex. twsn1.md.home.com)

9) Verify that BOTH PRIMARY & SECONDARY NUMBERS are added.

10) Verify that the {DOMAIN SEARCH ORDER} field contains subscriber's FULLY qualified domain (ex. twsn1.md.home.com)

11) Click On Gateway Tab

12) Verify that subscriber's gateway appears in the {Installed Gateway box}

13) Click on {WINS CONFIGURATION} tab

14) Verify that you {DISABLE WINS RESOLUTION} is selected.

15) REBOOT COMPUTER
