Transferring Files Using the Web Publishing Wizard

Once you've enabled web space, in Member Services, and completed a web page, transfer files to your @Home web space directory using a file upload utility (FTP). There are several FTP clients available including Web Publishing Wizard, bundled with Internet Explorer. To open Web Publishing Wizard;

  • Click Start, Programs, Internet Explorer, Web Publishing Wizard

The Wizard opens to display a welcome message.

  • Click Next
  • Click Browse Folder (or Browse Files)
  • Locate the file(s) you want to publish
  • Click Next
  • Type a name for the Web server (e.g. My Home Page)
  • Click Next
  • Type the URL for your Web space (http://members.home.net/username/
  • Same as the E-mail user name assigned to the web space

    (e.g. barney.rubble@home.com)

  • The local directory containing the upload file(s) is supplied automatically since you selected the files to publish
  • Click Next
  • You are prompted for your user name
  • Same as the E-mail user name assigned to the web space
  • (e.g. barney.rubble@home.com)

  • You are prompted for your password
  • Same as the E-mail password associated with the web space
  • (e.g. flintstones)

  • Click OK

To select your service provider;

  • Click Next
  • Select FTP
  • Click Next

Your Web server information appears.

  • Make any necessary changes
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish

A message appears to indicate a successful transfer
